Projects we do
1) SATURDAY SHRAMDAAN.
This is one of our flagship programs, well appreciated by Dwarka Delhi citizens in general and by GGIP University in particular. This is a voluntary work where our volunteers choose a location in various locations in Dwarka and assemble on Saturady morning in a park or public place and collect plastic waste, hand it over to Municpal authorities in their collection van. Several organisations join us sometimes to carry out this service. This is being done regularly from 2017 onwards.
2) PAVITRA PEEPAL PROJECT (PPP removing puja waste)
The very religious and pious worshipping place is Peepal Tree for Hindus, but we have seen that most of the Peepal trees are cluttered with Trash containing Puja Waste which includes flowers in polythene bags, broken idols, photo frames etc. Our volunteers clean the base of the tree and hand over the trash to Municipal authorities after dry-wet segregation. Sometimes, some agencies come forward to collect bio waste for composting purpose.
3) POSTER-SPEAK (environment day poster making Competition)
This is our regular Annual program going on since 2017. We condcut this program with a view to inculcate awareness. Uniqueness of this program is, it is conducted for all age groups including senior citizens. Best posters are awarded. The competition has a main motto to develop creative concepts, not just to encourage painters.
4) ECO-TALKS (Online environmental Talk Series)
We have been conducting monthly environmental lectures in the begining and every month there used to be one lecture by activists. The uniqueness lies in encouraging those who work in the field of environment, but need not necessarily be an expert. During the COVID period, we could not do, but now the program is online.
5) SEAP ( Students Environmental Awareness Program)
This is our oldest program, which is there ever since inception. Involving Students and introducing them to environmental action is the main focus of this program. We train the strudents in street plays, stage programs, creative modeling, waste to wealth efforts, awarenss campaigns on green crackers, compsoting, nursery techniques, tree planting and plogging programs besides camping, trekking & naature trails.
6) TREE CLINIC.
Tree Clinic emcompasses several ventures to save existing trees. It includes Tree adoption Program (TAP), Tree deconcretisation, denailing and removing creepers on trees like amar bhel. The clinic activists have several times re-erected the fallen trees. We also plant new trees and nurture them. Other activites involve new tree planting, nursery development, gardening and community composting.
7) VOICE & VIEWS (Advocacy)
Under this program, we voice our views for the common good, whether air pollution, garbage burning, tree nailing, concretisation or felling trees. We bring any deviation of laws of the land, or rules and regulations through online petitions, dharnas, online complaints, PILs and RTIs. We use social media to the maximum advantage to voice our views with a view to arrest the problem.
